I an interested in co-working, but I have a dog who would come with me most of the time. Is there a formal group looking for space here in Seattle? How does one meet up?

I too, am interested in this concept. SoDo seems like a great area to find a place. Although, I'm biased as I live in W.Seattle :) What kind of momentum do we have here? I won't be able to talk leases for another month or 2, but I am game to help, perhaps. marc(underscore)leahy(at)hotmaildotcom

We do not have lots of momentum. I think one problem is we have a limited number of people and everyone wants to be in their own neighborhood. We may need to consider meeting and discussing people's willingness to pick an area we can all agree on and then look for spaces.

Congratulations, Shauna. I've included some suggestions on the MyDayOffice page about how to more effectively do outreach with the coworking community and use this wiki to best effect. Seattleites, you might want to consider restructuring this page now that you have up-and-running coworking facilities in your town to put that front and center and demote but include more context/datestamps in the list of seekers. I'll be up for a visit next month and would be delighted to facilitate an in-person gathering, perhaps lunchtime at My Day Office if they're willing to host, to talk about the Seattle Coworking scene. It's one thing to have an ultimate perfect-fit fantasy, but it might be worth re-evaluating whether some of the existing facilities are "good enough," or what they would have to provide to meet your needs -- given the state of the market, it might at least be worth a try.

Thinkspace is building a coworking community on the Eastside that is looking for great space, big business benefits, while occupying a small footprint. We provide space that has excellent air quality, lots get natural light, a warm friendly atmosphere, and practice sustainable business practices. We are putting in bike racks, changing/shower room, and even an electric car charging station. Come swing by and introduce yourself!
